IEA Welcomes Mickey Marlow, PE as Principal
We are pleased to hire Mickey as an integral part of the IEA team. Mickey will help IEA enhance our strategic growth, technical excellence, and capacity to support amazing projects.
Based in DFW, Mickey will collaborate statewide with all of IEA’s Texas business lines, including highway and bridge, complex structures, CE&I, marketing, and operations to drive growth in the company, with a focus on the Texas Department of Transportation, rail and transit, aviation, and municipal clients.

Mickey began his career in transportation nearly forty years ago as Construction Superintendent – Chief Inspector with the Texas Department of Transportation. Over his 27 years with TxDOT, Mickey worked his way through the ranks with positions in inspection, roadway and bridge design, plan review, project management and finally managing a regional procurement service center for eight TxDOT districts. In 2001 and 2002, Mickey received the Commitment to Design Excellence Award from the TxDOT Design Division. For the last decade, Mickey has worked for other consultancies, managing growth strategies, business development, and operations in the Texas transportation sector.
Mickey’s experience ranges from operations management, transportation and traffic engineering, schematic and environmental document development and approval, PS&E development, building site management and construction engineering & inspection. He has evaluated and managed roadway design projects to ensure state and federal design standards and specifications are met, as well as planned district portfolios of projects to utilize all available funding categories to expand, maintain and upgrade the roadway network.

Mickey has been in Texas his entire career, so he knows first-hand the pressure our clients are under to meet the needs of the state’s growing population, and the transportation and infrastructure challenges that come with it. Our clients plan to implement an unprecedented volume of projects over the next decade. Mickey’s leadership skills and knowledge of the metro, urban and rural areas of Texas significantly enhance IEA’s ability to support our clients and deliver their complex and important projects.
Mickey received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas and Oklahoma.
In his free time, Mickey enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, two daughters, grandchildren, and friends. He is an avid golfer and fisherman.
