Forest Hills ADA Improvements, City of Duncanville, TX

IEA INC. SERVED AS PRIME CONSULTANT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DESIGN OF PEDESTRIAN AND ADA IMPROVEMENTS IN 4 LOCATIONS IN THE FOREST HILLS NEIGHBORHOOD IN DUNCANVILLE.

The project aimed to improve pedestrian mobility and safety around the neighborhood, including an area adjacent to Pace Alternative School.

IEA proposed bi-directional ramps as retrofit options to improve 2 intersections with challenging geometrics. These improvements were implemented without issue and all approaching sidewalk grades complied with ADA requirements. The project passed TDLR inspection on the first attempt.

IEA is committed to the design and composition of all public facility environments so they can be accessed, understood, and used to the greatest extent possible by all people, regardless of their age, size, ability, or disability. Our design concepts consider universal accessibility for buses, cars, bikes, and pedestrians.

We consider adequate lighting, pedestrian access, uninterrupted pedestrian infrastructure with ample space (prioritizing the pedestrian), drainage, street furniture, and appropriate gathering areas. These design measures help users feel safe and comfortable using public facilities.
