IEA Gives Back During the Holidays

IEA strives to provide quality services to our clients and leave a positive impact on our communities. This Holiday season, each office sponsored a specific organization to give back to our communities.

Houston: BEARing GIFTS Toy Drive and volunteering at Santa’s Workshop (Dec. 16)

BEARing Gifts is a holiday program sponsored by Be A Resource (BEAR) providing new holiday gifts to at-risk and Child Protective Services (CPS) involved children. This program gives children a chance to experience joy during the holiday season, when they otherwise may not.

IEA’s Houston office contributed to the BEARing Gifts toy drive by donating toys and sponsoring children’s wish lists. They also volunteered at Santa’s Workshop – BEAR’s Headquarters. Volunteers assisted in organizing inventory, shopping for children’s wish lists, and loading trucks to be distributed to CPS buildings.

Austin: TreeFolks to help plant a native tree nursery project (Dec. 13)

Our Austin office volunteered with local nonprofit TreeFolks to kickstart a native tree nursery project.

“We helped with cleaning and counting seeds to be grown at the nursery,” said Lena Lee, volunteer and IEA Marketing Coordinator. “We also got a tour of the nursery and [gained] some knowledge on how some native trees grow and what it takes to let them grow in the Austin area.”

This was a unique opportunity to learn more about the woody species native to our region and continue making an impact to keep our earth green!

Fort Worth: Tarrant Area Food Bank volunteer event (Nov. 21)

Prior to Thanksgiving, our Fort Worth office volunteered at Tarrant Area Food Bank, which distributes food to pantries in 13 counties. With 1-in-8 people across the nation struggling with hunger, this work is vital to the community.

The team helped those in the local community by sorting, packing, and preparing boxes of essential food. Our professionals had a great time giving back!

Dallas: Operation Once in a Lifetime Toy Drive (Dec. 8)

IEA’s Dallas office has supported Operation Once in a Lifetime’s (OOIAL) Toys for Troops drive for the past 11 years. All contributions to OOIAL’s Toys for Troops drive are donated to active and retired military and their families to assist in making holiday dreams come true.

“Kids are innocent and don’t know about the struggles adults go through. They deserve to have a good Christmas regardless of what situation their parents are in,” said Chris James, Senior CADD Designer and one of this year’s contributors. “If we can put a smile on a child’s face, that is the [biggest] reward that makes it worth it.”
