Dr. Ahmed Omran, PE, is our New Quality Assurance Manager
IEA is excited to announce that Dr. Ahmed Omran, PE, has joined the team as Quality Assurance Manager. Dr. Omran is a highly accomplished construction industry professional with over 24 years of expertise in construction quality management, materials testing, and special inspections. His leadership and technical knowledge will undoubtedly elevate IEA’s standards of excellence in quality assurance across our diverse portfolio of projects.
A Wealth of Expertise
Dr. Omran earned a Ph.D. in Transportation Infrastructure and Construction Materials in Canada, along with a master’s degree in Structural Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. His remarkable career spans the U.S., Canada, the Middle East, and North Africa, where he has successfully led projects aligned with diverse construction standards and practices.
Before joining IEA, Dr. Omran managed Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) for the Capital Delivery projects at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, ensuring strict compliance with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and ISO Quality Management System (QMS) guidelines. At IEA, he currently oversees Quality Management for the DART System Modernization Program in Dallas, TX, where his expertise is already driving impactful results.
An Academic and Industry Leader
Dr. Omran’s contributions to the field extend beyond his professional roles. As a former academic at NJIT and MIT, he has mentored the next generation of engineers and authored over 100 technical papers that have influenced global construction practices. Recognized with honors such as the ACI Wason Medal for Meritorious Paper, Dr. Omran’s achievements underscore his dedication to advancing the field of civil engineering.

When not leading quality initiatives, Dr. Omran enjoys traveling, hand-drawing, and reading historical novels. He is also deeply committed to academic pursuits, including teaching, research, and publishing journal papers. These interests reflect his multifaceted approach to life and work, combining technical rigor with creativity and exploration.
