IEA Welcomes Justin D. Beaird, PE
Justin D. Beaird, PE – Senior Project Manager
As IEA continues to expand, we see the importance in finding leaders who can foster what it means to be part of the team. Which is why we are excited to welcome Justin D. Beaird, PE, as a Senior Project Manager in our transportation group, based in our Dallas and Fort Worth offices. With over 23 years of experience in the transportation engineering industry, Justin brings invaluable insights from local agencies to statewide bridge projects.
A Strong Engineering Background
Originally from Denton, Texas, Justin ventured to the Colorado School of Mines, where he earned a B.S. in Civil and Mechanical Engineering. During his undergraduate years, he balanced academics with athletics, playing baseball on scholarship, and honed his leadership skills as a fraternity officer. After completing his degree, Justin returned to his home state to pursue an MBA with a focus on corporate finance from the University of Texas at Dallas. With dual degrees and expertise in both engineering and business, Justin is well-equipped to lead and manage large-scale transportation projects successfully.
With a professional career spanning more than two decades, Justin has contributed to the design of over 500 bridges, many of which are located in Texas. In the last decade, he has shifted his focus to overall project management for transportation projects. Additionally, his depth of experience includes working on schematics, environmental, PS&E, and GEC work as lead structural reviewer.
Leadership and Mentorship
In addition to his technical expertise, Justin is deeply committed to cultivating the next generation of leaders. He finds great satisfaction in being a mentor and is passionate about teaching both project management and sales skills in the AEC industry. His goal is to ensure a consistent pipeline of new leaders who will continue to drive IEA’s growth, success, and culture.
“I thrive on coaching and mentoring,” Justin shared. “My goal is to make sure we always have a consistent backlog of new leaders that can keep IEA growing.”
A Glimpse into Justin’s Personal Life
After a hard day’s work, Justin enjoys spending time with his 15-year-old twin daughters, his fiancé, who serves as an associate pastor at St. Barnabas Methodist Church in Arlington, and her 10-year-old daughter. Justin has a strong sense of humor and is competitive about being the funniest person in the room—although he admits that his daughters and fiancé give him a run for his money in that department.
Outside of his professional and family life, Justin is an avid poker player, and has even won money from the World Series of Poker (WSOP). Occasionally, he enjoys playing golf and bowling, and sometimes making a perfect game with 12 consecutive strikes. On the more relaxed side, Justin enjoys binge-watching his favorite TV shows and playing Angry Birds on his phone before calling it a night.
To the Future
Here at IEA, we find great importance in finding leaders who can provide the key skills to succeed and hold the same qualities that align with our company’s values – safety, quality, and culture. Justin D. Beaird’s commitment to mentoring the next generation will be invaluable as we continue to grow and excel in the transportation engineering industry all while aligning to our key principles. We’re excited to see all the achievements and contributions Justin will make and the remarkable progress we’ll achieve together!
