Adlong Ditch Channel Improvements, Harris County Flood Control District
Harris County, TX

IEA was the Prime Consultant responsible for enhancing flood reduction measures from US 90 to Cedar Bayou.

The Adlong Ditch (Q128-00- 00) Channel Improvements project focused on enhancing flood reduction measures from US-90 to Cedar Bayou.

The primary goal was to produce a preliminary engineering report that outlined cost-effective solutions while adhering to budget constraints. Utilizing advanced HEC-RAS (v5.0.7) 1D/2D modeling techniques and integrating high-resolution LiDAR data from 2018, IEA improved flood mapping capabilities and addressed flood claims that extended beyond the FEMA Zone AE floodplain.

The project resulted in 5 conceptual designs, 3 detailed designs, and a 30% PS&E plan that included channel improvements and a large detention pond, all documented in a comprehensive PER.
