Bird’s Fort Park Creek Bank
Stabilization Design
City of Irving, TX

IEA designed a retaining wall and rip-rap slope to protect the City’s Bird’s Fort Park property in coordination with their masterplan for the park.

IEA's scope also included trail relocation, an enhanced deck, and a water access ramp for launching of canoes and kayaks.

IEA developed conceptual plans for various wall layouts and wall types. IEA worked with the City’s Geotechnical consultant to narrow the concepts and layouts to the most feasible options which worked with the challenging soil properties, ground water and flood conditions, as well as the limited budget.

This project was one of 17 Task Orders under IEA’s Structural On-Call Contract with the City of Irving.
