H&H Practice Lead (DAL/HOU)

IEA Inc. is seeking an H&H Practice Lead to join our team.

This individual will direct and coordinate H&H projects including managing a wide array of H&H projects with Dallas area, Houston area and other Texas clients.

This individual will perform outreach and marketing to obtain work from TxDOT, Municipalities, North Central Council of Governments (NCTCOG), and other clients.

Job Requirements

  • Collaborate and coordinate with multi-discipline design engineers and technicians
  • Execute and manage projects for TxDOT
  • Execute and manage projects for NCTCOG
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule
  • Prepare technical documents including drainage reports, project deliverable packages, field reports, and design documentation
  • Lead the H&H marketing pursuits
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent from an ABET/EAC accredited program
  • Texas Professional Engineer required
  • TxDOT experience required
  • Minimum 10+ years of working experience related to hydrology and hydraulics for highway/roadway projects required
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) preferred
  • Proficiency in generating drainage impact studies for minor and major roadway projects preferred

Skills

  • Experience building and leading a team
  • Strong technical knowledge of 1D and 2D Hydraulic Modeling
  • Knowledge and experience with MicroStation required
  • Experienced with discipline-specific design software: GEOPAK and/or OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, HY-8, or other comparable design software

Sr. Project Manager/Lead Roadway Engineer (AUS/HOU)

Description

IEA Inc. currently has an opening for a Senior Project Manager/Lead Roadway Engineer to join our Roadway Team.

This individual will manage transportation design projects for clients such as TxDOT, cities, counties, and toll entities. A strong background in Texas roadway design engineering is required as well as understanding and having an ability to coordinate with multiple disciplines (including roadway drainage, structures, survey and others). Extensive knowledge of TxDOT Specifications and the TxDOT Roadway Design Manual are strongly preferred.

The candidate will lead a team of 2 to 6 professionals in a fast-paced engineering environment where projects may be derived from many delivery methods including conventional publicly bid projects and design-build.

Job Requirements

  • Lead a team to develop engineering documents that achieve our clients' goals and objectives while meeting schedule commitments and budget requirements.
  • Manage/develop engineering designs including geometric alignments, profiles, cross sections, construction sequencing, and maintenance of traffic details.
  • Create engineering documents including Typical Section Packages, Pavement Design Reports, and Variation/Exception Reports.
  • Coordinate with IEA's clients and team members, prepare meeting notes, prepare invoices, and progress reports to support his or her projects.
  • Perform quality control reviews and prepare/oversee construction quantity estimates.
  • Responsible for the review and sealing of projects and supervising the work of other engineers.
  • Represent the company in professional, civic, and political organizations and activities.
  • Pursue additional work from existing and new IEA clients and be responsible for meeting with clients, preparing pursuit materials and coordinating with required discipline leads.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent from an ABET/EAC accredited program,
  • Texas Professional Engineering registration, or ability to acquire within 6 months.
  • Demonstrated 12+ years in progressively responsible experience in roadway design and planning and leading an engineering team.
  • Experience in TxDOT transportation projects is strongly preferred

Project Engineer - Aviation

Location:

Dallas, Houston, or Austin, TX

Description

Under the supervision of a Project Manager and/or Task Leader, the Aviation Project Engineer will manage complex aviation engineering projects from concept through completion.

This work will include a wide array of aviation projects with commercial and general aviation clients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of six years of experience in aviation engineering, with a strong background in airport infrastructure, airside and landside design, and assisting with project management.

This role requires technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a collaborative mindset to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet regulatory standards and client expectations. Job activities will include the geometric design of runways, taxiways, and aprons; bituminous and concrete pavement design; stormwater and utility infrastructure design; coordination with airports, airlines, FAA, and other tenants; and construction administration/management. This individual will collaborate and coordinate with multi-discipline design engineers and technicians.

Job Requirements

  • Perform work in planning, design, and execution of aviation engineering projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, terminals, and support facilities.
  • Prepare and review engineering reports, technical specifications, and construction documents and identify discrepancies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to monitor project progress and quality.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and staff.
  • Maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure project alignment and success.
  • Support business development efforts including proposal writing and client presentations.
  • Regularly work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously.
  • Travel will be required with occasional overnight stays

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent from an ABET/EAC accredited program
  • Texas Professional Engineer, or ability to acquire within 6 months if licensed in another state
  • Minimum of 6+ years of aviation engineering experience, preferably with airport infrastructure projects.
  • Recent experience in design software packages such as Autodesk Civil 3D, and aviation specialty programs.
  • Strong understanding of FAA design standards and airport planning principles.
  • Texas Aviation experience is a plus.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license in the State of Texas within 45 days of starting.

Skills

  • Proficiency in engineering software such as Autodesk Civil 3D, Bluebeam Revu, and PM tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design and environmental compliance in aviation projects.

Marketing Coordinator

Description

IEA is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join our team in Texas.

The Marketing Coordinator will report to the Marketing Manager and work within a team of Marketing and Engineering staff to complete proposals, graphics, and interview preparations within set deadlines.

The candidate would be professional and have great organizational and interpersonal communication skills, with prior industry experience is a plus. Computer skills would include Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, WordPress, and Microsoft Suite. This is a non-exempt position. 

Job Requirements

  • Clear understanding of the RFQ/RFP process, preferably for the AEC industry in Texas  
  • Track upcoming RFQ/Ps and associated informational meetings for assigned pursuits/clients 
  • Coordinate and lead pursuit-specific planning, brainstorming, and review meetings following IEA’s processes 
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, marketing, and other internal staff, and subconsultants to collect data, answer questions about assignments, and incorporate reviewer feedback into proposal drafts 
  • Create and format IEA qualifications statements and proposals using Adobe InDesign software 
  • Lead data calls (exchange of qualification information) to and from clients in the AEC industry 
  • Complete proposal forms for correctness/completeness (e.g. TxDOT, municipal, aviation, transit) 
  • Maintain corporate project descriptions, resumes, and other materials 
  • Review materials prepared by other team members to ensure responsive, compliant, and quality submittals 
  • Prepare presentations and collateral leave behind material for client meetings and coach presentation teams 
  • Excellent attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills  
  • Perform grammar reviews and copy-editing tasks 
  • Other marketing support, including graphics creation, IEA’s corporate newsletter, social media content, events, and promotional items  
  • Attend industry events on behalf of IEA, as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, English, or similar degree 
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in the Architectural, Construction, Engineering (AEC) industry, preferably civil transportation, aviation, municipal, or construction management services, is preferred  
  • Experience working on TxDOT proposals is preferred

Project Accounting Intern (DAL)

Description

The Project Accounting Intern will work under the supervision of Project Accounting Manager and Project Accountant to gain hands-on experience in accounting practices. This role provides the opportunity to assist with day-to-day financial operations, learn about accounting processes, and contribute to IEA’s success.

The intern will assist in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. The Project Accounting Intern will gain real-world experience in accounting and financial analysis, learn about accounting software and systems used by professionals, develop understanding of accounting procedures and regulatory requirements, and enhance their professional communication and business skills.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Data Entry: Input financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets accurately and in a timely manner.  
  • Project Management Tool: Develop an understanding of project cost and profitability drivers
  • Assist with Contract Administrative duties: Preparation of contract, change orders and any additional documents as it relates to project accounting.
  • Responsible for the issuance of Certificate of Insurance to clients and subcontractors on request.
  • Audit Support: Help with the preparation and organization of financial documents for internal and external audits
  • Filling and Organizing Documents: Maintain financial files and documents for easy retrieval and ensure proper filing systems.
  • Assist Project Accounting Manager and Project Accountant with other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Accounting and/or Finance.  (2025/2026/2027 Graduates Preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
